work....
I got a lot of work done today, but not enough, I think I'll work more this evening. Di and I hung out this morning, went to iHop and such, good fun. Other than that, not much is really happening, Kyle and I were going to gig on Thursday but now it looks like that isn't going to happen. Too bad, I was looking forward to it. I'm thinking about ripping more of my CDs to MP3 tonight, but I think that might have to wait till more work is done!
Morning....
It's too god damned early. Talked to verio guy, getting that set up. I should call laywer, no.... breakfeast. Di spent the night, no crawling into each others' bed. Too bad :).
Disney
I told you they where evil!
Yay for CVS and project builder
I've got my little GUI client for livejournal working with iTunes 3, just had to grab it from CVS and build it in project builder. Pretty damn slick if you ask me. More writing coming, I swear :)
San Diego!
I'm having a damn good time in san diego, hanging out with perl people, and dyn people and all that. Plus I get to write poor english :).
Hoping today to shoot some pool with Jeremy and keep getting some work done for Dyn. Hopefully we'll get the gus thing figured out, but at this point it's all up the air again. Once I get back home I got to get going more on the billing system, and after that I'm on to other projects. Luckily we have a queue of projects now. :)
Fenton
I'm hanging out at my parents place in Fenton tonight, as it is closer to the airport. Why the airport you ask?! Well my good person-of-any-gender, I'm going to Sandy-fucking-ago. That's the phonetic spelling in case you missed it. Gotta chill there at a conference, doing the whole "Hey, I'm at a conference" thing. Should be fun.
After that, I'm working on the billing system, and moving the computers that in ithaca (well, actually a subset of the computers in Ithaca) to a brand spanking new (to us) colocation facility in metro Detroit. Getting that set up has been a lot of fun, as it's kinda been my baby. Good a really good price on a half cab with a meg ethernet crossover. Turned out cheaper than the ISP, which was a shitty T-1. Should be really nice once it is all set up.
Boring!
Today has been wicked boring. I think it has to do with something in the air, but I'm not sure. Either way, it was dull enough that I actually took a nap. Even when I haven't gotten any sleep (like today) I rarely do that.
Kate has been having Rob issues. I feel sorry for her, but other than talking to her I can't really do much. Hopefully talking will help in a little way for her. I dunno though, maybe I'll go to Fenton and talk to her face to face some.
I watched Robin William's special on HBO tonight. Some really really good lines, such as:
So they got the Red Sea and all the Hebrews say to Moses "Now What?"
And Moses speaks to his god and the sea parts and even the most faithless are like...
He's good.
No sleep...
Didn't get to sleep last night, layed there wide awake. I need to start getting more exercise on a regular basis. Ohh well, today is brand new day!
Parrot
I played around with parrot today. For those of you that don't know what parrot is, it's the virtual machine that perl6 will use. It's very very cool stuff. Doesn't have the higher level ops that perl5 does, but the op dispatch is so fast (I'm talking blow JVM away fast) that it shouldn't matter. Futher more, PMCs will let us implement things like hashes and arrays, plus we can do stuff like implement python VM core types with it. Most things in python bytecode just play around with pythonObjects, which can be strings, arrays, objects or anything like that. PMCs are even more abstracted than that, we can implement all those things, and pythonObjects with PMCs.
I made stirfry today, but the beef I got wasn't very good. aww well, tomorrow I'm going to mongolian BBQ!
Apartment
I got home to my apartment in lansing today. Good news: I got the network up and running again. Bad news: still no AC. I'm not going to sleep well tonight, but I'm looking forward to yelling at the management tomorrow.
