Nothing to kill or die for... And no religion too

Its worth remembering that, right after 9-11, Clear Channel pulled John Lennon's "Imagine" from it's airwaves. Which to me, sitting in Queens, New York and still seeing the smoke coming from the rubble... well, it meant to me that, in all seriousness, the terrorists had won something. We censored a song that perhaps represents the highest of human goals... peace. Brotherhood of man. No hunger, no war, sharing, living together... Why did they take John Lennon off the air? I don't know. But this song should represent the goal. And the goal has been hidden.

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
